Initiative Story
We have been and still are working towards majoring in briquettes and improved cook stove production and achieve full economic empowerement among the members of the society. Through our organization, a number of families have been able to secure their daily bread, educate their kids and live a healthy lifestyle by applying healthy modern means of cooking in their homes.
To achieve sustainability, we bought land where we constructed our offices in the property to facilitate general perations and management of office activities and also the production centre is on site hence saving the cost of leasing office and production space. Whenever any production is done, 60% of the money realised is ploughed back into the production while 20% goes to savings and 20% goes into catering for labour. We also do alot of the activities ourselves hence saving on labour cost. We have a VSLA amongst ourselves and incase of emergencies, we have a group's saving acount that we can borrow money from.
